I'm incredibly grateful to have you appear as a guest on Podcast Junkies. This document will answer any questions you have as you prepare for your interview.
If possible, find a quiet place that minimizes noise. Ideally that would be a room without high ceilings or a lot of glass.
You may want to have a glass of water handy so you stay hydrated during the call and to help with any dry mouth during the interview.
Prioritize your connection to SquadCast by closing other tabs, apps, & devices running on your computer.
If for any reason your network disconnects during the call, don't worry, everything is backed up to the cloud. Simply click the gold Reconnect button & continue recording.
If you have a concern about the strength of your WiFi signal, you may want to look into installing TripMode. This simple app allows you to toggle off any local applications that are using the internet signal. So that during the call, you can simply have the browser active and all other apps temporarily suspended from pinging the internet during the call.
Internal microphones will work, but external microphones are recommended to record quality audio. Headphones are highly recommended to eliminate echo. At the very least, a good set of earbuds will work well.
We will be connecting via video, which helps with non-verbal communication. We will only be using the audio portion of the recording for the final produced episode.
We'll be using SquadCast.fm for the recording of the interview. The actual URL will be provided in the calendar invite prior to the call. SquadCast is a browser-based service and works with the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Brave, & Edge. To see the most recent list of browsers supported, click here.
Below is a video created by Arielle, the awesome Community Manager over at SquadCast, where she'll guide on how to join the call:
